   They are switch disconnectors with independent manual operation, capable of making, carrying and breaking currents under normal circuit
   conditions, which may includes operating under overload condition and also carry currents under specified abnormal circuit conditions such as
   those of short circuit for a specified time.

    Typical applications are: 

     Generally used as a main switch or incomer inside a distribution board, an isolator does not offer any protection. It is used to completely disconnect the circuit from        the electrical supply in order to achieve absolute isolation.
